As our Senior People Business Partner, you will work across Dawsongroup supporting Truck and Trailer, Vans, Energy Solutions, and Bus and Coach, partnering senior leaders across a nationwide, multi site organisation to turn business priorities into clear people strategies.
- Act as a trusted senior adviser to executive leaders and Managing Directors, bringing insight and constructive challenge across organisational design, workforce strategy, culture, leadership and transformation.
- Help embed our People operating model consistently across the supported Business Units, connecting business requirements with People Operations and our Centres of Expertise to create joined up, practical solutions.
- Lead the continued development of performance management, helping leaders have better conversations, address underperformance appropriately, strengthen accountability and create greater consistency through effective calibration.
- Shape our approach to talent, succession and workforce planning, identifying organisational capability needs, strengthening talent pipelines and helping leaders build meaningful development and succession plans.
- Lead and support significant people change programmes, using data, commercial insight and strong employee relations judgement to manage risk, understand impact and help leaders navigate change effectively.
About You
You will bring senior level HR business partnering experience from a complex, operational or multi site environment, with the credibility to influence senior stakeholders while remaining comfortable getting close to the detail when it matters. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
