Senior People Business Partner
We are seeking an experienced Senior People Business Partner to join our People Team! This is a high impact strategic group HR role that is focused on organisational development, talent, culture, and transformation.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in organisational transformation, helping leaders navigate change, build future capability, and create high-performing teams in a complex and evolving environment. You'll work closely with senior leaders and People colleagues to deliver strategic, value-driven people solutions aligned to business objectives. While strategically focused, this is also a hands-on role, requiring someone who’s ready to roll up their sleeves, lead from the front, and establish HR as a true strategic partner.
This is a currently hybrid position. You must be within commutable distance to the London or Wakefield Offices.

We feel that it is important that City & Guilds is an organisation that reflects the diversity of modern society and is an inclusive organisation that ensures that everyone is supported so that they can achieve their best. We encourage and welcome applications from members of underrepresented communities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
