About Us
Halfords is on a journey - building the future of motoring and cycling and looking for people who want to help shape what comes next. We’re a place for co-creators: people who want to make a real impact, take ownership and be part of something that’s still evolving.
As the UK’s leading retailer of motoring and cycling products, we’re supported by one of the country’s largest independent vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair networks through Halfords Autocentres. This breadth gives us a strong, stable foundation - and the freedom to keep innovating and growing.
That means real variety for our colleagues, along with the opportunity to learn, stretch and develop as the business moves forward. Whatever your role, you’ll be part of a team focused on delivering exceptional service - using your expertise to solve problems, guide customers and help keep the nation moving with confidence.
About The Role
As Senior People Business Partner for Halfords Mobile Expert & Fleet Services, you will be the strategic business partner supporting a critical and evolving part of the Halfords business. Partnering with Directors and senior leadership, you will shape and deliver the people strategy for our Halfords Mobile Experts and Fleet divisions, ensuring our people agenda directly supports commercial growth, operational excellence, customer experience, and organisational transformation.
This is a highly visible role operating at the intersection of business strategy and people leadership. You will influence senior stakeholders, challenge thinking, and drive organisational effectiveness across a geographically dispersed operation. As Halfords continues to evolve its mobile servicing proposition and expand its fleet capabilities, you will play a pivotal role in enabling large-scale change, building leadership capability, and ensuring our workforce is positioned for future success.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded senior business partner who thrives in transformation environments and is passionate about creating high-performing, customer-focused teams.
This field-based role acts as a strategic people partner to leaders across HME and Fleet operations throughout the UK. While based in the West Midlands, the role requires frequent travel across our UK HME sites to support business priorities and stakeholder engagement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
