Ilir Sela started Slice
Ilir Sela started Slice with the belief that local pizzerias deserve all of the advantages of major franchises without compromising their independence. Starting with his family's pizzerias, we now empower over tens of thousands of restaurants with the technology, services, and collective power that owners need to better serve their digitally minded customers and build lasting businesses. We're growing and adding more talent to help fulfill this valuable mission. That's where you come in.
The Challenge to Solve
Partner with R&D leaders to build high-performing, inclusive teams by aligning people strategy with technical and business priorities.
The Role
As a People Business Partner, you'll partner with leaders across Slice's R&D organization, providing strategic guidance and day-to-day support on the people challenges that come with building and scaling high-performing technical teams. Much of our R&D organization is based across the UK, US, Canada and the Balkans, so you'll work closely with leaders across multiple countries and time zones.
You'll coach managers through performance, organizational design, talent planning, employee relations, and change, helping leaders make thoughtful decisions that strengthen team effectiveness and business outcomes. You'll also work closely with Talent Acquisition, People Operations, Compensation, Finance, and Legal to deliver consistent, scalable People programs that support our global workforce.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
