Octopus Electric Vehicles 🚙 – Marketing (Growth)

Full-time / Hybrid

What we do

Electric Car Leasing

Why we do it

Greener. Fairer. Future.

Over the last two years, consumer growth at Octopus Electric Vehicles has accelerated fast. We’ve grown our B2C activity significantly, and we’re now looking for someone brilliant to take day-to-day ownership of our digital performance engine.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves being close to the detail: building campaigns, digging into search query reports, spotting optimisation opportunities, improving audiences, testing creative, reporting clearly, and helping us move faster.

You’ll sit in the B2C Growth squad, reporting into the Senior Growth Marketing Manager, and will own paid digital activity across paid search, programmatic, and paid social. You’ll work closely with our Content Creator, Design team, Commercial team, and wider Marketing team to get campaigns live quickly, optimise performance, and unlock new areas of growth.

Paid media is the heart of this role, but you'll also own key parts of the user journey, including writing, building, and launching campaign landing pages using our web tools to ensure end-to-end performance. Over time, there may also be the opportunity to support organic social planning, scheduling, and reporting alongside our Content Creator.

This would suit someone with strong hands-on performance marketing experience, ideally from an agency or fast-paced digital environment, who is ready to step into an in-house role with more ownership, more visibility, and more chance to shape what happens next.

What You'll Do

  • 🚀 Own our paid digital channels: Build, manage and optimise campaigns across paid search, paid social and programmatic display, helping us reach more people ready to make the switch to electric.
  • 🔍 Get properly stuck into the detail: Dive into search query reports, audiences, bids, budgets, and campaign performance to spot what’s working, what’s wasting spend, and where the next opportunity is.
  • 🔧 Keep the digital engine humming: Work hands-on across SA360, DV360, Campaign Manager, and Meta Ads Manager, making sure campaigns are set up cleanly, tracking works, audiences flow through, and everything goes live without drama.
  • 📈 Spend smartly: Help manage digital spend within agreed monthly targets, reporting regularly on pacing, CPL, and performance, with clear recommendations on where to push, pause, or test next.
  • đŸ§Ș Test, learn, repeat: Partner with our Content Creator and Design team to test new creative hooks, formats, audiences, and messaging across paid search, paid social, and programmatic.
  • 📊 Make reporting actually useful: Turn channel data into clear, practical insight, helping the B2C squad understand what’s happening, why, and what we should do next.
  • 🌐 Own landing page launches & web optimisations: Take end-to-end ownership when campaigns require new landing pages and other pieces of content like quizzes, drafting page copy (with support from the team), building them using our CMS/web tools, and setting them live.
  • đŸ€ Make things happen: Coordinate briefs, assets, links, tracking, and launches across content, design, web, and wider marketing teams so campaigns get live quickly and with as little faff as possible. You’ll also be happy jumping into wider growth priorities when the team needs it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You'll Need

  • Strong experience of hands-on performance marketing experience, ideally in a fast-paced agency, media, content, or high-growth in-house environment. We’re open on exact years of experience - what matters most is your technical ability, curiosity, and attitude.
  • Strong paid search experience, with the confidence to build, manage, and optimise campaigns day to day, including search query analysis, bid optimisation, budget pacing, and performance reporting.
  • Experience with Google Marketing Platform, especially SA360 and Campaign Manager. DV360 experience would be a big plus, particularly if you’ve worked on programmatic display campaigns.
  • Experience managing paid social campaigns, ideally in Meta Ads Manager, with a good understanding of how creative, audiences, placements, and formats affect performance.
  • A proper performance mindset. You enjoy digging into the numbers, finding wasted spend, spotting growth opportunities, and working out what we should do next.
  • Good tracking and reporting hygiene. You understand why UTMs, conversion tracking, audiences, naming conventions, and clean campaign setup matter.
  • A roll-your-sleeves-up attitude. We move quickly, things change, and there’s always something new to figure out. You’ll enjoy this role if you like pace, variety, ownership, and the odd “this isn’t technically my job, but I can help” moment.
  • This role will suit someone driven, proactive, and commercially minded, but also kind, low-ego, positive, and fun to work with.

Things to note

  • đŸ¶ Just to let you know, we are a dog-friendly company, so you may see our four-legged friends in the offices - feel free to bring yours! Rest assured though, we've taken lots of precautions for those who have allergies.

Across Octopus, we're looking for genuinely decent people who are honest and empathetic. Our people are our strongest asset and the unique skills and perspectives people bring to the team are the driving force of our success. Where necessary, we sometimes use AI tools to help with parts of our hiring process, like reviewing applications or assessing responses. We’re lucky to receive a huge amount of interest, so these tools help our recruiters manage that volume, not replace them. Ultimately, every hiring decision (for example, whether to progress your application or not) is always made by a real person in our Talent team.
