Why we do it
Greener. Fairer. Future.
Consumer growth at Octopus Electric Vehicles has accelerated quickly over the last two years, and paid media is a huge part of how we reach more drivers and grow the business.
We're looking for a brilliant Senior Performance Marketing Executive to take day-to-day ownership of our paid digital activity - with one big goal: help us get more from every pound we spend.
This is a hands-on role for someone who loves performance marketing at the detail level. You'll be in Google Ads regularly, analysing search terms, adjusting budgets and bids, spotting wasted spend, testing new approaches and working out where we can improve conversion and scale efficiently.
Paid search will be at the heart of the role, and you'll also help us explore and grow channels like Paid Social, Display and Programmatic, testing where they can add incremental value to our existing activity.
You'll sit within our B2C Growth squad, reporting into the Senior Consumer Growth Marketing Manager, and work closely with our Content Creator, Design, Commercial and wider Marketing teams.
This would suit someone with strong hands-on performance marketing experience, perhaps from an agency or fast-paced in-house environment, who wants more ownership, more visibility and more opportunity to influence what happens next.
What You'll Do
- 🚀 Own our paid media campaigns: Build, manage and optimise campaigns across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads and Meta, with paid search as your core focus initially.
- 💰 Make our spend work harder: Identify wasted spend, underperforming campaigns and opportunities to improve efficiency, with clear recommendations on where to push, pause, reduce or reallocate budget.
- 📈 Optimise towards the outcomes that matter: Look beyond clicks and leads to understand which campaigns and audiences are driving better-quality customers and orders, and use that insight to improve performance.
- 🖥️ Help us grow Display and Programmatic: Identify opportunities across prospecting and retargeting, shape audiences and creative approaches, launch tests, analyse performance and recommend where there is a genuine opportunity to scale.
- 📊 Stay close to performance: Monitor spend, pacing and key metrics, spot changes quickly and turn the numbers into clear, practical recommendations.
- 🧪 Test, learn and improve: Work with our Content Creator and Design team to test messaging, creative, formats, audiences and landing-page approaches.
- 🎯 Keep campaigns clean and measurable: Make sure tracking, UTMs, audiences, naming conventions and campaign structures are set up properly so we can trust the data we're using to make decisions.
- 🌐 Help improve what happens after the click: Support campaign landing pages and other digital experiences, including drafting copy and building or updating pages using our web tools when needed.
- 🤝 Make campaigns happen: Coordinate briefs, creative, links, tracking and launches across the team so activity gets live quickly.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What You'll Need
- Strong hands-on paid search experience. You're confident building, managing and optimising Google Ads campaigns yourself, from search terms and match types to bidding, budgets and campaign structure.
- A proper performance mindset. You naturally look at an account and ask: Where are we wasting money? What could perform better? What should we test next?
- Good commercial judgement. You know the cheapest click or lead isn't always the best one, and you're interested in what actually drives better-quality customers and orders.
- Confidence managing paid media budgets. You're comfortable keeping an eye on pacing, spotting where performance is changing and recommending where spend should move.
- Experience with Display or Programmatic. Ideally, you've worked hands-on with Display campaigns, DV360, Campaign Manager 360 or similar platforms. You don't need to be a programmatic specialist, but you should understand the basics and be excited to help us grow this area.
- Some paid social experience. Experience with Meta Ads Manager or other paid social platforms would be useful.
- You're comfortable with the technical detail. You understand why conversion tracking, UTMs, audiences, naming conventions and clean campaign setup matter, and you're happy digging into data to work out what's going on.
- Around 2-4 years of hands-on performance marketing experience, ideally in an agency, media business or fast-paced in-house environment. We're flexible on exact years - what matters most is your technical ability, curiosity and attitude.
- Most importantly, you enjoy doing the work. You like being in-platform, finding opportunities and making things better, and you're proactive, commercially minded, low-ego and great to work with. Things move quickly here, priorities change and everyone pitches in, so you'll thrive if you're happy getting stuck in, helping others and figuring things out as you go.
