SportsShoes

We are the UK’s number one online retailer for Run, Trail and Hike, powering every runner and adventurer to run faster, go further and climb higher.

Role Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Performance Marketing Manager to join SportsShoes on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Working closely with our Head of Marketing, you’ll lead our performance marketing strategy and roadmap, managing a team of Marketing Executives alongside specialist agency and technology partners. This is a broad, commercially focused role spanning Paid Media, Ecommerce, SEO, and marketing technology. You’ll be responsible for ensuring activity across these areas is strategically aligned, commercially effective and evolving, and will set direction, maintain roadmap momentum, and ensure activity delivers against goals. While many of our channels are supported by specialist partners, you’ll retain overall ownership.

Responsibilities

Performance Marketing Strategy & Leadership

  • Own and deliver the Performance Marketing roadmap, ensuring activity supports wider marketing and commercial objectives.
  • Set direction and priorities across key digital acquisition channels, including PPC, Paid Social, and YouTube.
  • Balance short-term performance objectives with longer-term demand and customer acquisition generation.
  • Work closely with agency partners to complete actions, review performance and challenge recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, whilst developing business cases, where needed, for new activity, investment, technology and testing.
  • Ensure budgets are deployed effectively, with a clear understanding of performance, return and commercial impact.
  • Stay informed of developments across digital marketing, ecommerce and the wider competitive landscape, identifying opportunities relevant to SportsShoes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
