Are you a commercially-minded performance marketing expert ready to shape the future of digital acquisition? Toolstation is looking for a strategic and data-driven Senior Performance Marketing Manager to lead the next evolution of our performance marketing capability.
This is a pivotal role where you'll drive high-quality customer acquisition across our digital channels, helping more trade professionals and serious DIY customers discover Toolstation, download our app, visit our stores, and spend more with us.
As our Performance Marketing lead, you'll own the digital acquisition strategy across Paid Search, Shopping, Paid Social, Affiliate Marketing and App campaigns, managing significant media investment to deliver both immediate commercial returns and sustainable long-term customer growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Performance Marketing Strategy: Lead the development and execution of our performance marketing strategy across Search, Shopping, Paid Social and App campaigns, driving profitable customer acquisition while optimising return on ad spend and customer acquisition costs.
- AI & Marketing Innovation: Help shape the future of our marketing capability by introducing more autonomous, AI-enabled campaign management. Work with internal teams and agency partners to explore emerging technologies, ensuring Toolstation remains at the forefront of performance marketing innovation.
- Customer Acquisition & App Growth: Own the digital acquisition strategy for the Toolstation App, increasing downloads, engagement and customer lifetime value through sophisticated app marketing and optimisation strategies.
- Measurement & Commercial Insight: Develop advanced measurement frameworks that go beyond traditional attribution, providing insight into the full commercial impact of digital marketing across ecommerce and store sales. Build predictive models that support smarter investment decisions and future customer growth.
- Search & Discovery Excellence: Partner closely with SEO, Digital and Technology teams to improve customer discovery, ensuring Toolstation remains highly visible across evolving search behaviours and AI-powered search experiences.
- Creative Performance: Work with creative and agency partners to deliver highly personalised campaigns that resonate with different customer groups, continually testing, learning and optimising creative performance at scale.
- Budget Management: Manage significant performance marketing investment, balancing commercial targets with long-term customer growth while maintaining strong governance, brand integrity and performance accountability.

What you'll bring

- 5+ years' experience in Performance Marketing with a proven track record of driving customer acquisition and commercial growth within a retail or ecommerce environment.
- Strong experience managing large digital media budgets across channels including Paid Search, Shopping, Paid Social and App campaigns.
- A deep understanding of digital marketing strategy, measurement and optimisation, with experience balancing short-term commercial performance against long-term customer value.
- Experience working with AI-powered marketing tools, automation platforms or emerging marketing technologies, with a genuine interest in the future of digital marketing.
- Excellent analytical capabilities, with experience using data to uncover commercial opportunities and influence strategic decision-making. Experience with SQL, Python, Tableau or Power BI would be advantageous.
- Confident working with senior stakeholders and external agency partners, with excellent communication and influencing skills.
- A customer-first mindset with a passion for delivering outstanding digital experiences that drive measurable business results.
