Coopers of Stortford is the UK’s favourite multi-channel Home & Garden store, headquartered in the historic market town of Bishop’s Stortford. The business operates a large flagship store supported by a comprehensive catalogue and an established e‑commerce website. Its product range spans domestic and leisure categories including gardening, cook shop, housewares, bathroom, tools, DIY, pet supplies, wild bird care, motoring, leisure, travel, personal items, furniture, florist services, wine and chocolate. The company focuses on practical, innovative products that enhance everyday life at home and in the garden. Team members join a customer-centric retail environment with both traditional and digital channels driving growth.
Role Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join Coopers of Stortford, a well-known and established retail brand that is part of a larger international group, at a pivotal stage in its digital transformation journey.
With digital channels now accounting for over 50% of business revenue, this role offers the chance to make a significant impact in a fast-paced, commercially driven retail environment. We're looking for someone who is passionate about driving growth, optimising performance, and identifying new opportunities to enhance revenue and customer acquisition.

As a Senior Performance Marketing Manager, you will take ownership of a broad digital marketing mix, with the freedom to shape strategy, drive innovation, and leave your mark on a growing digital business. You'll have the opportunity to explore and develop new channels, maximise performance across PPC platforms (Google Ads and Microsoft), and provide valuable insight and direction across paid social activity.
We're seeking a commercially minded and highly analytical individual who thrives on understanding performance data and translating insights into action. You will be naturally curious, proactive in your approach, and excited by the challenge of operating in a fast-trading retail environment.

What we're looking for:
- Proven hands-on experience managing and optimising PPC campaigns across diverse SKU mixes.
- An understanding of Meta, email marketing and other digital acquisition channels and the levers to pull to improve results.
- Previous team management experience, with the ability to develop and motivate others.
- A genuine passion for driving revenue growth and improving commercial performance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-led approach to decision-making.
- Experience working within a fast-paced retail or e-commerce environment.
- Experience marketing large and diverse product ranges. (The Coopers range includes over 10,000 SKUs!)
- A curious mindset and a desire to continuously test, learn and improve.
This role would suit someone who enjoys owning a broad digital marketing remit and is motivated by the opportunity to make meaningful change within a business that continues to invest heavily in its digital future.
