Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Payroll & Personal Tax Advisor to join our team in Wetherby. This role is predominantly payroll-focused, running complex payroll processes for a range of clients, with a secondary responsibility for assisting the personal tax team with tax returns to support broader team capacity.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to take ownership of complex payroll processing, with personal tax forming a smaller but essential part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run the end-to-end payroll process for a portfolio of clients, including complex payrolls.
  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately and in compliance with current legislation and deadlines.
  • Handle complex payroll queries and scenarios, acting as a point of escalation within the team.
  • Assist the personal tax team with the preparation of personal tax returns as needed.
  • Liaise with clients and HMRC on payroll and tax matters as required.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering a professional and reliable service.
  • Support less experienced team members with payroll processing and best practice.

Requirements

Key Requirements

  • Strong, demonstrable experience running complex payroll processes.
  • Working knowledge of personal tax, sufficient to assist with tax return preparation.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, particularly under deadline pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload with a primary focus on payroll.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills.
