Job Description:

Our purpose is to deliver energy to the world, today and tomorrow. For over 100 years, bp has focused on discovering, developing, and producing oil and gas in the nations where we operate. We are one of the few companies globally that can provide governments and customers with an integrated energy offering. Delivering our strategy sustainably is fundamental to achieving our ambition to be a net zero company by 2050 or sooner!

About the role

Join bp's North Sea Production & Operations team and play a key role in maximising production performance across our offshore assets. Working closely with operations, reservoir management and subsurface teams, you will help optimise well and field performance, support production delivery and see opportunities to improve value from our assets.

This is an individual contributor role with strong technical leadership responsibilities. You'll mentor colleagues, influence decisions across multiple disciplines and help shape production management activities across the asset.

What you'll do

  • Drive production optimisation and well performance improvement initiatives.
  • Support daily production management activities, including well surveillance, gas lift optimisation, water handling and production fixing.
  • Deliver and maintain production forecasts, integrating well performance, planned activities and new well opportunities.
  • Partner with operations, reservoir management and subsurface teams to maximise asset performance.
  • Lead production engineering input into well interventions and new well start-ups.
  • Identify emerging opportunities and risks and recommend actions to improve production delivery.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced engineers, sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement through data-driven decision making and optimisation activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
