The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

1 x 36 hour permanent post (aligned with Surgery, Orthopaedics and Critical Care clinical pharmacy team)

1 x 31.5 hour permanent post (aligned with Women’s, Children’s and Families team)

Band 5*

About The Role

NHS Tayside Pharmacy Services are seeking two Pharmacy Technicians to join our Clinical Pharmacy Team at Ninewells Hospital. These are fast-paced, interesting and challenging roles central to delivering safe, effective, and person-centred care for patients across a range of inpatient services.

As a Pharmacy Technician registered with the GPhC, you will play a vital role in supporting medicines reconciliation, discharge planning, medicines optimisation and safe medicines governance. You will work as part of integrated multidisciplinary teams, contributing to safe and timely patient care while helping to reduce medicines waste and unnecessary expenditure.

These roles provide opportunities for full medicines management training, so prior experience is not essential. We are particularly interested in the transferable skills you can bring to the team, such as communication, organisation, attention to detail, and teamwork. We are committed to your ongoing professional development and will support further training to help you reach your full potential.

You will also contribute to a positive work culture, supporting colleagues, working collaboratively in a dynamic team, and demonstrating professional leadership within your role. Your work will directly impact the efficiency of our services and the safety and experience of our patients.

Appointment Requirements

To be appointed at Band 5, applicants must meet all requirements of the person specification, including successful completion of the VT Foundation Framework or have demonstratable equivalent experience working as a band 5.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
