Job Overview
The Centralised Homecare and Procurement team form part of the Pharmacy and Medicines Management team. This is an opportunity to recruit passionate and proactive Pharmacy Technicians to manage our growing remit in medicines procurement and homecare services along with providing oversight and professional support to clinical teams.
The successful candidate(s) will have experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and participating in service improvement. The post holder(s) will be required to support the development and implementation of innovative ways of working. These will lead to improvements in patient care and experience and provide efficiencies for the organisation and staff.

This role will be based on the Abergele Hospital Site (negotiable), with a focus on providing direction and support for pharmacy services across the Health Board. A key priority will be to support the delivery of pharmacy’s vision for the future, and explore ways of implementing efficiencies, developing staff and systems, and ensuring that our vision and goals align with the key themes of "Pharmacy: Delivering a Healthier Wales".

The successful candidate(s) is expected to exercise a degree of autonomy in the performance of allocated duties within limits set by their managers and work in accordance with departmental and Health Board policies and procedures.

- Be responsible for supervision, development and management of allocated pharmacy medicines management staff within medicines procurement and homecare for the Pharmacy and Medicines Management Division.
- Within medicines procurement and homecare, lead and assist projects and areas of work, developing strategies for service improvement that reflect professional and corporate objectives in conjunction with the Pharmacist Senior Managers.
- Support with delivery of services within homecare and procurement, including pharmacy IT system management, Freedom of Information requests.
- Deputise for Line Manager on local, regional and National forums to facilitate evidence based, cost effective procurement of medicines within BCUHB.
- Perform clinical verification of homecare script within remit (when accredited) ensuring compliance with professional, legal, commissioning and regulatory requirements.

- A substantial level of post qualification experience in pharmacy services.
- Experience of managing pharmacy team(s)
