Senior PHP Developer
Location: Remote – UK £50,000–£65,000 Base + Benefits
Our client has developed a technology platform that helps businesses understand and improve the performance of their customer conversations. The platform automatically captures and transcribes calls before applying AI-driven analysis to provide greater visibility across team performance, customer outcomes, compliance, and missed opportunities.
By bringing together telephony, CRM integrations, and intelligent conversation analysis, the platform transforms large volumes of communication data into meaningful and actionable business intelligence.
Our client is already supporting many organisations across the UK and is now entering an exciting period of continued product development and customer growth. As part of this next stage, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Laravel Developer who can help scale the platform, strengthen its technical foundations, and contribute to the development of the next generation of the product.
The Opportunity
This is a senior, hands-on engineering position offering considerable autonomy and the opportunity to influence both technology and product development. Working closely with the Lead Engineer, CTO, product team, and wider development function, you will contribute throughout the development lifecycle, from technical design and architectural decisions through to implementation, testing, and production. You will take ownership of technically complex features, contribute to engineering standards, and help ensure the platform remains reliable, maintainable, and capable of supporting continued growth.
The core technology stack includes PHP, Laravel, MariaDB, AWS, and React/Next.js, alongside an expanding collection of AI classifiers and data-processing pipelines used to analyse substantial volumes of customer conversation data. The position is primarily backend focused, although experience with modern frontend technologies and the confidence to contribute across the wider application would be advantageous.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
