About The Role
Are you an experienced Physiotherapist looking for a role that combines advanced clinical practice with the opportunity to work at the forefront of primary care? We're looking for a Senior Physiotherapist and First Contact Practitioner (FCP) to join our expert Musculoskeletal team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to split your time between our established MSK outpatient service in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire and a GP practice in Chesham, where you'll work as an FCP for a minimum of 2 days per week. You'll play a vital role in helping patients access expert MSK assessment and treatment quickly, whilst developing your own advanced practice skills within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.
As a Senior Physiotherapist and FCP, you'll manage a varied caseload of patients with acute, chronic and complex musculoskeletal conditions across both outpatient and primary care settings.
We have 7 satellite clinics in various locations across Buckinghamshire including Marlow, Chalfont, Amersham, Thame, Aylesbury and Buckingham and can offer clinics in the areas most suited to you. We also have a well-equipped purpose-built gym for patient rehabilitation and classes.
Our service is open 7 days a week between 8am – 7pm which allows us to offer extremely flexible working hours which could include weekends and evenings if it suits you, or just standard weekdays. There are also no on-call responsibilities improving your work-life balance!

What you'll be doing
As Our Senior Physiotherapist and FCP, You Will Be
- Assessing, diagnosing and managing a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions
- Delivering evidence-based physiotherapy treatment programmes and rehabilitation plans
- Managing patients with spinal, peripheral and complex MSK presentations
- Acting as a First Contact Practitioner within GP practices and Primary Care Networks
- Identifying serious pathology and appropriately escalating complex cases
- Requesting and interpreting investigations in line with local clinical pathways
- Providing expert clinical advice to patients, GPs and multidisciplinary colleagues
- Supporting service development, audit and quality improvement initiatives
- Supervising and supporting junior team members where appropriate
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and contributing to excellent patient outcomes
What we'll look for in you
With Your Current HCPC Registration and Significant Experience Working As a Senior Physiotherapist Within The NHS, Independent Sector Or Private Practice, You Will Also Have
- Experience working autonomously and managing a clinical caseload independently
- Strong assessment, diagnostic and clinical reasoning skills within MSK practice
- Evidence of ongoing CPD and postgraduate development
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Desirable
- Completion of, or progress towards, Stage 1 and Stage 2 of the HEE Roadmap to Practice
- Direct experience working as an FCP within a GP practice or Primary Care Network
- Experience issuing fit notes
- Qualification in Injection Therapy
- Knowledge of EMIS and SystemOne clinical system
What You Can Expect in Return
- A full-time equivalent salary of up to £55,000 per annum depending on experience
