Job Opening: Senior Physiotherapist: Children’s (rotational)

We are recruiting for one permanent and one fixed term (ending Oct 2027) position. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Physiotherapist: Children’s (rotational). This post participates in a cross-site rotational scheme which includes PICU and the acute wards, Neonates, Child development service, and MSK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing a high standard of physiotherapy to patients.
  • Performing advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions.
  • Developing and delivering an individualized treatment program.

Work Requirements

  • Working at weekends within the PICU and acute wards rotation as part of their contracted hours of work. (Specific rota details are held locally within departments).
  • Participating in the overnight on-call rota and completing relevant induction and achieving required competencies. (Specific rota details are held locally within departments).

Additional Duties

  • Providing a high standard physiotherapy service to patients in all service areas.
  • Acquiring and demonstrating knowledge of relevant pathologies, conditions, normal values relating to the specialist area of physiotherapy.
  • Being responsible for own caseload and being responsible within a defined area of the service and undertaking all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
  • Supervising and contributing to the training and development of therapy support workers, band 5 physiotherapists, and students.
  • Undertaking service development projects to further own and team’s clinical practice within each area.
  • Making recommendations for service development, with active involvement in the implementation of changes to practice or service protocols.
  • Participating in one of the out-of-hours weekend working and overnight respiratory on-call rota (specific rota details are held locally within departments), dependent on specialty area.
