Bonners Piano Centre – Newcastle upon Tyne
£19,500 - £25,000 a year - Permanent, Full-time
Love music? Love people? Looking for a career that's a bit different?
This could be one of the most rewarding opportunities you'll find.
Bonners Music is one of the UK's leading piano specialists. Since 1976, we've helped thousands of musicians find instruments they genuinely connect with, whether they're complete beginners, passionate hobbyists or professional performers.
You'll be working in one of the UK's largest specialist piano showrooms, representing many of the world's leading piano manufacturers, including Yamaha, Kawai, Roland, Casio and more.
Our customers don't visit Bonners for a hard sell. They come to us because they value honest advice, expert demonstrations and the opportunity to compare some of the world's finest pianos in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
We're looking for a confident, personable and commercially minded musician to join our Newcastle showroom team, working closely alongside our Showroom Manager.
This is a senior showroom position. In time, you will become the Showroom Manager's deputy, taking responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the showroom whenever they are away.
Working Pattern
This is a full-time position, working five days per week, including every Saturday.
Your normal days off will be Wednesday and Sunday, although occasional flexibility may be required for manufacturer training, company meetings and special events.
Application Process
To help us get to know you before we invite candidates for interview, all applicants will be asked to submit a short introductory video as part of their application.
The video should:
- Introduce yourself and tell us a little about your musical background.
- Explain why you'd like to work at Bonners.
- Include a short piano performance demonstrating your playing ability.
We're not looking for concert pianists or flawless performances. What matters most is that you can play confidently enough to make a piano sound inspiring, communicate naturally, and help customers imagine themselves playing the instrument. Above all, we're looking for people who are engaging, personable and able to build a genuine connection with customers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
