Shape the future of nuclear engineering

At Cavendish Nuclear, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. If you join us, you can play your part as a Senior Piping Engineer at our offices in Grimsby or Hessle, East Yorkshire.

The role

As a Senior Piping Engineer, you'll play a key role in the design, analysis and delivery of safety-critical piping systems supporting major nuclear projects across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your advanced mechanical and piping engineering expertise within a highly regulated environment while broadening your nuclear industry experience through structured development and re-skilling opportunities.

You'll take technical ownership of complex engineering activities across stress analysis, pressure systems, vendor management and multidisciplinary project delivery. Working as the intelligent customer for specialist suppliers, you'll directly influence the successful delivery of nationally significant projects that support the UK's energy and defence capabilities.

Day-to-day, You Will Be

  • Performing piping stress and flexibility calculations to ensure systems operate safely under operational and environmental loads.
  • Reviewing engineering drawings, piping layouts and 3D models to ensure compliance with technical and industry standards.
  • Leading technical interfaces with suppliers, contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Producing and reviewing engineering specifications, calculations, reports and design documentation.
  • Supporting project delivery through technical problem solving, stakeholder engagement, site visits and quality assurance activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
