Vacancy: Senior Planner
Location: Greater Manchester

Bethell is expanding, and we are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Planner to join our Planning team. This role will be pivotal in supporting the wider business across a diverse portfolio of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
If you’re a natural problem-solver, confident communicator, and experienced planner with strong technical capability, we’d love to speak with you.
What you’ll be doing:
- Developing detailed project programmes from first principles using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Supporting tender submissions with accurate, logical, and contract-compliant programmes.
- Tracking, updating, and reporting on live project programmes, including EoT and NEC Clause 62 assessments.
- Working collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to monitor progress and address risks and opportunities.
- Challenging, advising, and guiding internal teams to ensure a shared understanding of programme ownership.
- Ensuring all programmes reflect safe working practices, sufficient mobilisation time, and efficient resource allocation.
- Identifying continuous improvement opportunities and contributing to delivery strategies.

What we’re looking for:
- 3+ years in a planning role and 10+ years in the civil engineering/construction sector
- Civil Engineering qualifications (HND or similar) and experience in highways, structures, or water infrastructure are desirable
- Strong experience in P6 and Microsoft Project
- Ability to interpret drawings/specifications and build accurate programmes
- Understanding of NEC contracts, CDM regulations, and temporary works
- A proactive, analytical, and collaborative approach
- Confident communication skills with clients and colleagues
- Full UK driving licence
