Job Summary
WiiGroup is seeking to hire a Senior Planner to join our growing team in Newcastle upon Tyne, supporting the delivery of a major mission-critical project.
The Senior Planner will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules and supporting project controls activities throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with project leadership, construction teams, subcontractors, and client representatives, the successful candidate will ensure project programmes are accurately maintained, progress is effectively monitored, and key milestones are achieved.
This role is ideal for an experienced planning professional with strong site-based pharmaceutical or data centre experience, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to supporting project performance within fast-paced construction environments.
Our Ideal Candidate
- 5+ years' experience in project planning, project controls, or scheduling within the construction industry.
- Pharmaceutical or data centre experience.
- Strong experience developing and maintaining detailed construction programmes using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
- Proven experience working on large-scale construction projects such as data centres, commercial developments, industrial facilities, infrastructure projects, or mission-critical environments.
- Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling methodologies, critical path analysis, earned value principles, and progress reporting.
- Experience tracking programme performance, identifying schedule risks, and supporting recovery planning where required.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project delivery teams, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify programme risks, constraints, and opportunities.
- Experience producing programme updates, look-ahead schedules, progress reports, and schedule performance analysis.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience within live site environments and multidisciplinary construction teams is highly desirable.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
- Professional accreditation such as APM, PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent is advantageous.
- Fluency in English is essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Monitor project progress against approved baselines and report on programme performance.
- Produce weekly and monthly progress reports, earned value updates, and look-ahead programmes.
- Conduct critical path analysis and identify schedule risks, delays, and opportunities for programme optimisation.
- Support project teams with recovery planning and programme mitigation measures where required.
- Review subcontractor schedules and ensure alignment with project milestones and deliverables.
- Attend progress meetings and liaise with project stakeholders to gather and validate schedule updates.
- Maintain accurate programme documentation and change records.
- Support extension of time assessments and schedule impact analysis when required.
- Assist the project controls and management teams in achieving programme objectives and project milestones.
