Senior Planner

Nottingham - Leicester | Major Highways Infrastructure | Permanent | Hybrid Working (3 Days Site Based) | £65,000-£80,000 + Package

Are you an experienced Senior Planner looking to play a key role on major highways infrastructure projects whilst working for a contractor with a strong pipeline of secured work?

We're supporting an established civil engineering contractor delivering a portfolio of National Highways and local authority infrastructure schemes across the Northwest who are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Planner to join their project controls team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Planner with a strong civil engineering background and NEC contract experience to take ownership of programme management across complex highways schemes involving earthworks, structures, drainage, junction improvements and associated infrastructure works.

You'll work closely with operational, commercial and engineering teams throughout both pre-construction and delivery phases, ensuring programmes accurately reflect project requirements whilst providing clear visibility of risks, opportunities and project performance.

The role offers a good balance of site, office and remote working, with approximately three days per week spent on project sites near Nottingham - Leicester.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
