Job Title: Senior Town Planner
Location: Cardiff
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading independent planning consultancy in the appointment of a Senior Town Planner to join their growing Cardiff team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planning professional to join a collaborative and ambitious consultancy, working on a diverse range of projects across the UK while taking on meaningful responsibility and developing their career.
The Role
As a Senior Town Planner, You Will
- Manage a range of planning projects across different sectors.
- Prepare, submit and manage planning applications through to determination.
- Provide clear and commercially focused planning advice to clients.
- Undertake planning research and provide strategic planning advice.
- Liaise with local planning authorities, clients, consultants and other stakeholders.
- Manage project deadlines, priorities and competing demands.
- Support business development and contribute to growing the Cardiff team.
- Mentor and support junior members of the team with their professional development.
- Build and maintain strong client and professional relationships.
- Contribute to the continued success and growth of the wider business.

About You
We are looking for an experienced Senior Planner who is:
- RTPI qualified, with MRTPI achieved or working towards chartership.
- Experienced across a range of planning sectors and development types.
- Experienced in preparing, submitting and managing planning applications.
- Confident providing planning advice to clients and managing projects.
- Commercially aware with a strong understanding of the planning system.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- An excellent written and verbal communicator.
- Comfortable mentoring and supporting junior colleagues.
- A strong team player who wants to contribute to the growth of a successful Cardiff office.
- Competent using Microsoft 365.
