Senior Planner
Location: Central London
Salary: up to £110,000 + car allowance + travel + package
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Planner to join a leading UK main contractor on a prestigious £150m cut and carve project in Central London.
This is a key appointment within the project team, with the successful candidate taking ownership of the planning function from project delivery onwards. Working closely with the Project Director, site team and wider project leadership, you will play a central role in developing and managing the programme and ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Senior Planner to take a lead role on a high-profile London project and work alongside an experienced delivery team.
Responsibilities
- Leading the planning function for the £150m project.
- Developing, managing and updating the detailed construction programme using Asta Powerproject.
- Working closely with the Project Director, site team and project management team to ensure successful programme delivery.
- Monitoring progress against the baseline programme and providing accurate forecasting.
- Producing regular programme updates, reports and progress analysis.
- Identifying critical path activities, programme risks, delays and opportunities.
- Working with the construction team to develop mitigation and recovery strategies where required.
- Providing planning input into key project decisions and delivery strategies.
- Coordinating programme information across design, procurement, commercial and construction teams.
- Presenting programme performance and key issues to senior project stakeholders.
- Ensuring the project team maintains a strong focus on programme performance throughout delivery.

About You
We are looking for an experienced Senior Planner with a strong track record working for UK main contractors on major construction projects.
You will be confident taking ownership of the planning function and comfortable working closely with senior project leadership and site teams. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, alongside the technical ability to develop and manage complex construction programmes.
Essential Requirements
- Extensive UK main contracting experience.
- Proven experience working on new build construction projects.
- Strong experience operating at Senior Planner level with responsibility for a major project or package.
- Advanced proficiency in Asta Powerproject.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, methodologies and project delivery.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work confidently with Project Directors, site teams and senior management.
