Senior Planner - Manchester / North West
Company Description
A fantastic opportunity to join a leading Construction Main Contractor, specialising in delivering complex Commercial, MoJ & Education projects across the North West.
The Opportunity
The Senior Project Planner will have responsibility for developing, managing/coordinating and monitoring the project programme and controls on large scale MoJ projects initially, across the North West. This will be split between site and offices in Greater Manchester, but the contractor is happy for you to be based from one of the projects if it is easier/closer for you.

- Programming, planning, monitoring, reporting, feedback and mitigation measuring.
- Providing leadership for the planning and co-ordination processes and implement and maintain the requirements of the Project Business Plans.
- Ensuring that all programmes are compliant with the Project requirements and develop and agree a sequence of events ensuring that the most economical / advantageous construction strategy is adopted.
- Analysing performance and advising the project team of likely impact and recommend improvements.

What skills & experience are we looking for?
- Major project experience is ideal however we also encourage applications from candidates who have led the planning and control functions on smaller-scale projects and implemented robust project controls.
- A good understanding of construction techniques and a HNC / Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar sector related course, and/or CIOB Membership.
- Experience in contributing to pre-contact planning, work winning, and processes, producing a Bid Programme and associated time related information as part of a tender bid team.
- Project planning experience and knowledge of strategic planning and project/ programme management systems.
- Ability to analyse, collate and utilise a range of data and information for reporting and forecasting, as well setting 4D modelling for projects.
