Job Title: Senior Planner

Location: Chester, Hybrid

The Vacancy

Binnies UK, part of the RSK Group, is looking for a Senior Planner working within our Delivery group on UK Water Engineering and Construction projects, initially within the Binnies / WGM (bWGM) Joint Venture undertaking Design & Build projects for United Utilities, and likely later within our DCWW AMP8 framework within Wales.

Binnies is expanding its planning capabilities following the award of Design and Construct contracts across England, Scotland and Wales. As a result, there is a requirement for the role of a Senior Planner to work on these exciting projects.

At Binnies we offer flexible/hybrid working patterns with flexibility on location.

About The Role

Responsible for planning and project controls functions on individual projects and across a programme of works. Developing and maintaining the project programmes. Compliance with contractual and procedural requirements. Reviewing and integrating supplier’s programmes. Critical Path Methodology and Float Monitoring. Identifying and evaluating the impact of Contractual issues related to programme e.g. Compensation Events, Claims and EOTs. Production of progress reports and identifying and communicating with the management team and client representatives. Able to lead, supervise, guide and support more junior planners.

Essential Requirements

  • Extensive planning and project controls knowledge and experience.
  • Experience of managing multiple projects forming a programme of works.
  • Knowledge and experience of multi-discipline design, construct and commission projects, ideally in the Water Industry.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.

The role is suitable for candidates with a background in Civil Engineering, or another related discipline. You should possess and be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and knowledge.

Desirable Requirements

  • Design knowledge, and experience of developing design programmes.
  • Water Industry Experience and practical knowledge - Water and Wastewater.
  • NEC Contract knowledge.
  • Earned Value Analysis methodologies.
  • 4D modelling experience.
  • Chartered Status.
