Location: Framlingham, Suffolk

Permanent Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 + Package

Contract Rate: £500 - £550 per day Outside IR35

Working Pattern: 4-5 Days Per Week On Site.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Planner to join a well-established civil engineering contractor working on a major UK infrastructure project based in Suffolk.

We are looking for a Senior Planner with a strong heavy civils and infrastructure background, ideally with experience across earthworks, groundworks, piling, reinforced concrete structures, and associated civil engineering packages.

The position is available on either a permanent or contract basis, with permanent salaries between £80,000 - £100,000 + package, or £500 - £550 per day Outside IR35 for contractors.

The Role:

As Senior Planner, you will play a key role in the planning and successful delivery of the project, working closely with the project, engineering, and commercial teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, managing, and updating detailed construction programmes.
  • Producing programmes covering civil engineering.
  • Developing programmes from pre-construction through to project delivery and completion.
  • Monitoring project progress against the baseline programme and identifying potential delays.
  • Producing short-term, medium-term, and long-term programmes.
  • Working closely with Project Managers, Site Agents, Engineers, and commercial teams.
  • Reviewing construction methodology, sequencing, and buildability.
  • Undertaking critical path analysis and identifying programme risks.
  • Producing progress reports, programme updates, and look-ahead schedules.
  • Supporting tender and pre-construction planning where required.
  • Assessing subcontractor programmes and ensuring they align with the overall project programme.
  • Supporting delay analysis, change management, and extensions of time where required.
  • Attending project, progress, and client meetings.
  • Ensuring programmes accurately reflect site progress and construction activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
