Senior Planner – Project Controls & Planning

Location: Nottingham / Midlands
Salary: £55,000 – £70,000 depending on experience
Type: Permanent (39 Hours - Hybrid Working)

The Opportunity

We’re working with a growing Midlands-based project controls and planning consultancy that is looking for an experienced Senior Planner to join the team. The business works across major infrastructure and construction projects, with a growing portfolio within the UK water sector.

This is an opportunity for a Senior Planner who wants to do more than simply maintain programmes. You’ll work closely with clients and experienced professionals across planning, project controls, contracts, claims and commercial environments.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for providing high-quality planning support across major projects, taking ownership of programmes and helping clients understand project performance.

You’ll be involved in:

  • Developing and managing complex project programmes
  • Programme analysis and reporting
  • Identifying risks, delays and opportunities
  • Working closely with project teams and stakeholders
  • Change management
  • Schedule analysis
  • Supporting delay and claims analysis
  • Working within NEC contract environments
  • Providing planning and project controls support
  • Communicating programme issues and recommendations to clients

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
