Rate: £59.94 per hour (Umbrella) - willing to negotiate

The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Planner – Project Controls to join a leading organisation supporting the delivery of complex, high-profile programmes within a highly regulated environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive planning professional with strong Primavera P6 and Project Controls expertise to play a key role in maintaining programme schedules, delivering robust planning solutions, and supporting informed project decision-making through high-quality planning and Earned Value Management.
Working alongside Project Managers, engineers, scientists, and multidisciplinary teams, you will ensure the integrity of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), provide accurate forecasting, and drive best practice planning across complex programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), ensuring accuracy, integrity, and alignment with programme objectives.
- Develop, update, and manage detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Analyse critical path, network logic, dependencies, constraints, and project risks.
- Produce accurate schedule forecasts and performance reporting.
- Deliver Project Controls planning support across multiple complex projects.
- Carry out Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis, including schedule variance and Schedule Performance Index (SPI) reporting.
- Support Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) development and continuous improvement.
- Lead planning meetings and provide planning expertise to project teams and stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, engineers, scientists, and wider business functions.
- Champion planning best practice and contribute to the continuous improvement of planning processes, tools, and standards.
- Support the development of EVMS processes, templates, guidance, and training.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong experience using Primavera P6.
- Proven background as a Senior Planner or Project Controls Planner working on complex programmes.
- Excellent understanding of:
- Integrated Master Scheduling (IMS)
- Critical Path Analysis
- Network Logic
- Schedule Forecasting
- Baseline Management
- Progress Measurement
- Demonstrable experience delivering Earned Value Management (EVM/EVMS).
- Ability to analyse schedule performance and provide meaningful insights to stakeholders.
- Experience leading planning meetings and influencing multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to improve project performance through effective planning and controls.

- Defence, nuclear, engineering, infrastructure, or other highly regulated industries.
- Large-scale programme delivery.
- Driving planning maturity and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience working within complex project environments.

Active DV clearance
