Workforce Planner - Role Overview
This role will involve managing workforce scheduling for approximately 20 projects, ensuring resource allocation aligns with delivery timelines. The candidate will work closely with project managers and programme leads to monitor resource capacity and provide reports for portfolio governance.
Success is measured by effective resource utilisation, clear visibility of project demand, and smooth programme delivery. The position is remote, with occasional travel to London or Nottingham, and requires proactive stakeholder engagement. The candidate should be a highly capable planner with strong resource management expertise and the ability to work independently.
Location: Mostly Remote (occasional travel to Nottingham or London)
Contract Length: 6 months
Day Rate / Pay: £300-325 DOE
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Start Date: 12/10/2026

Key Skills & Experience
- Strong background in Project Planning and Resource Management
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project (MS Project), ideally managing plans at portfolio level
- Demonstrable experience optimising resources across multiple concurrent projects
- Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working within large-scale transformation, change, or business improvement programmes
- Able to start quickly and work in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project planning and scheduling across a portfolio of circa 20 projects
- Maintain and optimise resource allocation across multiple workstreams
- Track resource capacity, utilisation, availability, and forecast demand
- Work closely with project managers and programme leads on delivery timelines and resource needs
- Provide portfolio-level reporting and planning insights
- Ensure governance and planning processes are followed throughout the transformation programme
