Monroe are currently working with a leading main contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Planner to join their team, working across a range of public sector construction projects in West London and the surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Planner with a strong construction background to take responsibility for the planning and programming of projects from pre construction through to delivery, working closely with project teams and senior management.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience working on public sector projects, with a strong understanding of NEC contracts and proven experience using either ASTA Powerproject or Primavera P6.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, manage and maintain detailed project programmes from pre-construction through to completion.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Commercial Managers, Design Teams and Site Management to ensure programmes accurately reflect project requirements.
- Prepare baseline programmes, progress updates, look-ahead programmes and detailed reporting.
- Monitor project progress against programme and identify potential delays, risks and opportunities.
- Provide planning and programming support to project teams and senior management.
- Analyse programme performance and implement mitigation and recovery strategies where required.
- Manage programme changes and assess their impact on project delivery.
- Assist with the preparation of tender and pre-construction programmes.
- Provide detailed programme information for client and stakeholder meetings.
- Support the commercial team with extension of time and delay analysis where required.
- Ensure programmes are maintained in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Work collaboratively with site teams to ensure programme objectives are understood and achieved.

- Previous experience working as a Planner / Senior Planner within a main contracting environment.
- Strong experience delivering building projects, ideally within the public sector.
- Experience working on projects under NEC forms of contract.
- Strong knowledge of construction planning and programming.
- Proficiency in ASTA Powerproject or Primavera P6.
- Experience managing programmes through the full project lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, methodology and project delivery.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently while also supporting wider project teams.
