Location: Planetary Road, Wolverhampton (WV13 3XA)
Type: Full-time office based until competent – Flexible / Hybrid working will be assessed on an individual basis.
Help keep Cadent's operations running efficiently
At Cadent, effective planning and scheduling is critical to delivering a safe, reliable and customer-focused service. As a Senior Planning & Scheduling Support, you'll play a key role in coordinating work, managing resources and supporting the delivery of operational plans across the network.
Working closely with Operational Planning, Operational Delivery and frontline teams, you'll help ensure workloads are realistic, resources are effectively utilised and customers receive a positive experience throughout their journey.

- Supporting operational planning by coordinating activities across the planning cycle, including work order creation, allocation and customer contact where required.
- Analysing performance data to provide insights that support operational delivery and continuous improvement.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to support the delivery of annual plans, targets and regulatory outputs.
- Managing planning updates by maintaining accurate resource availability, workload information and short-term plan changes.
- Resolving escalated queries from operational teams and customers to ensure positive outcomes and customer journeys.
- Providing resource reporting across skills, shifts, locations, standby arrangements and contingency requirements.
- Developing standard processes by creating and documenting operating procedures that support efficient planning and scheduling activities.
- Supporting performance improvements by identifying trends, variances and opportunities to improve planning effectiveness.
What you'll bring
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing demands.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide meaningful insights.
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong planning and organisational skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- A collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across teams to achieve shared goals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and navigate business systems.
- Experience using operational systems such as SAP, ClickSoftware or similar scheduling and resource management tools would be advantageous.
- A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality service and improving performance outcomes.
