Senior Planner

Location: Manchester

Salary: up to £100,000 + package

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Planning Engineer, or an ambitious Planner looking to take the next step, to join a leading UK contractor based in Manchester.

You'll join an established and highly experienced planning team with a strong order book of exciting new build and major refurbishment projects across Manchester and the wider North West. With a diverse portfolio of schemes typically valued between £50m and £300m, this is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to major projects across a broad range of sectors and play a key role in their successful delivery.

Working as part of the project planning function, you'll have significant involvement in the delivery of major schemes, working closely with the Project Director, Project Manager, site management and wider commercial and design teams. You'll be responsible for developing and managing robust construction programmes, monitoring progress, identifying risks and opportunities, and providing effective planning solutions to ensure key project milestones are achieved.

We're looking for a planner with a strong UK main contracting background and proven site-based planning experience on major construction projects. You'll have a thorough understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing and project delivery, together with strong Asta Powerproject skills. The successful candidate will need to be confident working closely with operational teams and capable of taking ownership of their programmes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
