Senior Planning Engineer – London Underground Projects

Taylor Woodrow South is seeking an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to support the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects across the region, with a particular focus on works delivered for London Underground.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established team working on complex rail and infrastructure programmes within one of the UK's most demanding operational environments.

The Role

Working closely with Project Leads, Site Teams and the Pre-Construction function, you will play a key role in developing, maintaining and managing project programmes from tender stage through to project delivery.

This role would suit an experienced Planner with a strong understanding of project delivery, or an operational professional who has progressed into planning and can bring practical construction knowledge into the programming process.

The successful candidate will combine technical planning expertise with strong communication skills, enabling them to work collaboratively with project teams and provide clear, accurate programme information to support project performance.

Candidates with previous experience working on London Underground projects are highly desirable. However, applications are also welcomed from individuals with planning experience across other rail sectors including Network Rail, light rail, metro, station upgrades, rail civils, track, signalling, power, electrification or wider transport infrastructure projects.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
