We have a fantastic opportunity on our EDF Project Controls Resource Framework.

, providing the successful candidate with the opportunity to work on a dynamic portfolio of multi-million pound projects that will continue to grow over the coming decades. The framework will provide the successful candidate with continual opportunities to grow and develop while performing a crucial role in the vision for continuing to provide the UK with safe, reliable energy.

As a Senior Planning Engineer

you will be a fundamental part of our Project Controls team responsible for providing planning support, working with Project Managers to develop and manage schedules to incorporate risk, change, resource requirements and cost.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities

  • Leading, mentoring, and coaching a team of Planning Engineers.
  • Develop, control, monitor, analyse and report on schedule related aspects for designated projects with a portfolio
  • Establish and monitor a cost and resource loaded, logic linked, baseline plan for the project in accordance with EDF processes
  • Capture project budgetary costs and resources in the plan to determine time phasing of expenditure and the total project budget
  • Establish robust Work Breakdown and Project Control Structures in terms of project scope
  • Maintain and control project baselines in line with company procedures and guidance, challenging schedule and cost variances against the baseline plan
  • Lead on EVM methodology and practice within the project
  • Facilitate acceptance of and ensure that the project plan embraces the full project work scope, is fit for purpose and is achievable. Regular interfacing and integration with the project controls team to maintain an aligned financial position with the Project Plan

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Essential

  • Previous Line Management experience
  • Primavera (P6) trained and experienced
  • Experience in building cost and resource loaded plans
  • Experience / understanding of Earned Value Analysis
  • High level of numeracy and excellent analytical skills

Desirable

  • Experience / understanding in the interpretation of estimating, scheduling, programming and risk tools
  • Relevant experience in Project Controls and/or Project Delivery, preferably in a highly regulated environment

QUALIFICATIONS

Desirable

  • HNC/HND, degree qualified or experience in a planning related discipline
