Job Title: Senior Planning Manager – Data Centres
Location: West London
Salary: £65,000 - £95,000 + Car Allowance + Package
The Opportunity
A leading main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Planning Manager to take a key role on a major data centre project in West London.
This is a high-profile, technically complex project where you will take ownership of the project planning function, working closely with the Project Director, commercial and delivery teams to ensure the programme is robust, achievable and effectively managed through to completion.
The role would suit an experienced planner who has operated at Senior Planning Manager / Planning Manager level on large-scale construction projects and is looking to further develop their career within the data centre and mission-critical sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning function across the project, taking ownership of the overall programme.
- Develop, maintain and manage the baseline programme through all stages of project delivery.
- Work closely with the Project Director, Construction Managers, Commercial team and project stakeholders to ensure programme alignment.
- Manage detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover programmes.
- Coordinate and integrate MEP, CSA and specialist subcontractor programmes.
- Monitor progress against key milestones, critical path activities and contractual obligations.
- Identify programme risks, delays and potential areas of slippage, developing mitigation and recovery strategies.
- Lead regular programme reviews and progress meetings with internal teams and subcontractors.
- Produce accurate programme updates, progress reports and management information.
- Challenge project teams and supply chain partners on programme performance and deliverability.
- Support commercial teams with delay analysis, EOT submissions and change management where required.
- Ensure short-, medium- and long-term programmes are aligned with the overall project objectives.
- Drive effective look-ahead planning and ensure site teams have clear and achievable delivery targets.
- Support project leadership with forecasting, scenario planning and recovery programmes.
- Mentor and develop junior planners within the project team.

Experience Required
- Significant experience working as a Planning Manager / Senior Planning Manager within a main contractor environment.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale, complex construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing across CSA and MEP disciplines.
- Experience managing programmes through design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of Primavera P6.
- Experience managing subcontractor and supply chain programmes.
- Strong understanding of critical path analysis, progress measurement and programme risk.
- Experience with delay analysis, mitigation and recovery programmes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to operate confidently with senior project leadership and client teams.

Data Centre Experience
- Data centre / mission-critical experience is highly desirable, particularly experience working on hyperscale, colocation or other technically complex facilities.
- Candidates from other sectors may also be considered where they have strong experience delivering comparable large-scale projects such as:
