Senior Planning Manager
About the Role
A London-based developer is seeking an experienced Senior Planning Manager to join a dynamic and growing development business. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of major development projects, from site acquisition and feasibility through to planning delivery and construction support.
As a Senior Planning Manager, you will lead consultant teams in preparing and delivering planning applications across a diverse portfolio of projects. You will play a key role in shaping development proposals, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing stakeholders, and ensuring projects are designed to be both commercially viable and deliverable. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with a range of colleagues from legal, investment, land, cost planning and construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead consultant teams in the preparation and submission of planning applications.
- Manage planning projects from early feasibility and site acquisition stages through to planning determination and delivery.
- Coordinate and oversee programme, budget, design and project management activities throughout the planning process.
- Provide strategic planning advice on development opportunities and site acquisitions.
- Manage relationships with local authorities, statutory consultees, stakeholders and external consultants.
- Ensure projects are designed and progressed in a manner that supports successful delivery.
- Review and manage planning risks and opportunities across development projects.
- Monitor project progress and ensure planning strategies align with wider business objectives.
- Support the management of design changes and planning amendments during the construction phase.
- Provide planning input on projects at varying stages of the development cycle.

About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Significant experience within planning (experience working for a developer is desired)
- A strong understanding of the UK planning system and development process.
- Experience managing planning applications on complex and large-scale developments.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working within multi-disciplinary project teams.
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of development viability and deliverability.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills.
