Senior Planning Lawyer | Oxford City Council
Starting salary of £74,077 (inclusive of market supplement) Predominantly home-based, with monthly Committee attendance in Oxford
An opportunity for an experienced Planning Lawyer to join Oxford City Council’s legal team, advising on a varied and interesting planning caseload within a well-established and highly regarded service.
You’ll provide specialist legal advice across planning law, policy and enforcement, working closely with an experienced planning service and supporting the Council on a range of complex matters. The work will include:
- Advising on complex planning matters and legal and procedural issues
- Supporting elected members, agents and senior stakeholders
- Working closely with an experienced and knowledgeable planning service
- Providing clear, practical legal advice on a varied caseload
- Contributing to major projects and the Council’s wider strategic ambitions

About you
This opportunity would suit an experienced Planning Lawyer who is confident handling complex work, can operate at pace and enjoys being trusted to get on with the job.
You’ll need strong technical planning knowledge, good judgement and the ability to provide clear, pragmatic advice to a range of stakeholders.
