Position Overview
We’re seeking a Senior Platform Architect to define the platform-level architecture of our systems—as we evolve from single-accelerator solutions to server/rack-scale deployments.
Coordinates high-performance platforms by evaluating and integrating accelerators, defining system topology, host integration, memory organization, and platform requirements driving performance, scalability, and serviceability.
Collaborates closely with:
- AI Infrastructure Systems (board- and system-level hardware)
- Core architecture teams
- Silicon & software divisions
- Strategic customers and ecosystem partners
Core ownership: Interfaces with leadership to align architecture and commercial directives while working with the AIIS Director on design and deployment.

Key Responsibilities
- Define platform-level architecture for scale-up/scale-out fabrics, spanning single-node to rack level.
- Specify physical interconnect infrastructure, analysing trade-offs for board- and system-level products.
- Translate workload/performance requirements into system architectures, interconnect specs, and design trade-offs.
- Host integration: Define host interfaces (PCIe, CXL, memory), system-level memory management.
- Optimise systems performance, power, cost, and scalability to retain performance across nodes through clusters.
- Establish RAS (ReK*liability, Availability, Serviceability) requirements to ensure production-grade manageability.
- Function as cross-functional technical leader, engaging:
- AI Infrastructure Systems division
- Silicon & product management
- R&D & software teams
- External partners (customers, system integrators, ecosystem stakeholders)
- Drive platform design methodologies and best practices as the team scales.

Qualifications
Required Experience
- 5+ years in system, platform, or hardware architecture, with demonstrable expertise at server/rack scale.
- Deep/commanding knowledge of:
- Scale-up/scale-out systems and workloads
- Distributed mapping techniques & functional partitioning
- Fabric/connectivity hierarchy (PCIe, UALink, optical/switched fabrics)
- Systems-level mindset: linking workload requirements → hardware → end-to-end performance impact.
- Collaborative leadership: Cross-disciplinary fact-finding/policy-making with senior stakeholders.
- Strong ownership of big-picture solutions with technical execution rigor.

- Architecture experience with AI/HPC accelerators, distributed workloads, and data-center deployment.
Location
Flexible globally within Europe—positions offered with varied on- or off-site options:
- Already near an office?
- Leuven (Belgium) / Amsterdam/Eindhoven (Netherlands) / Zurich (Switzerland) / Florence/Milan (Italy) / Bristol (UK).
- Work fully remotely from a European country of your choosing.
- Relocate with us to Florence/Milan (Italy) or Amsterdam/Eindhoven (Netherlands).
Note: Preference for candidates interested in Belgium or Italian locations.
