Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within fast-paced, challenging environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more.
Opticore IT are currently searching for a Senior Platform Architect to lead the technical design and delivery of cloud infrastructure. You'll join our excelling team, based in the London area for an initial 6-month contract inside IR35. This role requires one day onsite in White City per week.
This opportunity will work alongside experienced post-production architects and solutions architects who understand media workflows deeply, translating their requirements into viable, cost-effective, cloud architecture.

- Design and deploy a simple proxy and full resolution video editing in AWS cloud using GPU-accelerated workstations where necessary.
- Make use of appropriate streaming infrastructure such as Teradici / Amazon DCV to cater for the various network links where editors may be based such as in offices, at home etc.
- Design for locations that do not have DirectConnect and for those working from home via the Public Internet maintaining zero trust security.
- Making use of organisation's agreed AWS Private Pricing, design an optimised storage solution that appropriately tiers content to the correct class of AWS storage to minimise storage, transaction and retrieval costs.
- Design for the integration of appropriate storage software on top of AWS object storage to provide File System support for the applications that need it, i.e. those which do not support object storage natively.

What you'll bring:
- AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification
- Hands-on AWS architecture or platform engineering
- Expertise in AWS networking
- IAM design
- Multi-tenancy: logical isolation patterns, shared infrastructure with per-tenant boundaries
- Experience with VDI/Remote desktop solutions (DVC, Teradici etc)
