Senior Platform Engineer – Gloucester (Permanent, Full-Time / Hybrid)

The Role and Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Build and enhance development tools & infrastructure to support efficient software delivery
- Align with stakeholders to understand project requirements and influence technical direction
- Automate and optimise development and release workflows for efficiency and reliability
- Ensure system security by identifying vulnerabilities and implementing defensive measures
- Troubleshoot technical issues and develop scalable software solutions to resolve them
- Collaborate with engineers to maintain adherence to established DevOps processes and validate system integrity

Requirements
Key Experience & Skills
✔ Proven experience in Agile/SCRUM/DevOps delivery methodologies ✔ Proficiency in cloud technologies (AWS or Azure) ✔ Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible) ✔ Expertise in large-scale application deployment via CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Concourse CI, or cloud equivalents) ✔ Knowledge of container platforms & orchestration (e.g., ECS, AKS, Kubernetes/Helm/Docker) ✔ Familiarity with automation tools and scripting (familiarity with source control) ✔ Experience with kubernetes, helm, docker security considerations
