Contract type: Permanent – Full Time (35 hours per week, Monday to Friday)
DBS Level: Basic

About the Role

Lead and evolve the technology platforms that power our organisation.

Are you a senior infrastructure or cloud professional with a passion for building secure, resilient and high-performing technology platforms? Do you enjoy combining technical leadership with hands-on engineering expertise, helping shape the future of enterprise technology while ensuring critical services remain reliable and secure? If so, this could be the opportunity for you.

We’re looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Infrastructure team within Information Technology. In this senior technical role, you’ll provide leadership and ownership across a range of enterprise platforms, ensuring services remain secure, resilient, supportable and aligned to organisational objectives.

Working closely with Architecture, Cyber Security, Business Applications, End User Computing, suppliers and business stakeholders, you’ll play a key role in delivering technology services that provide long-term business value. From cloud platforms and identity services to Microsoft 365 and SaaS technologies, you’ll be responsible for the engineering, governance, continual improvement and operational readiness of critical technology platforms across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the senior technical authority for assigned technology platforms, ensuring services remain secure, resilient and aligned with organisational standards.
  • Provide technical leadership across enterprise infrastructure, cloud, collaboration, identity and hybrid technology services.
  • Own the full lifecycle of technology platforms, from implementation and optimisation through to renewal and retirement.
  • Lead the design, implementation and continual improvement of complex technology solutions, ensuring they are scalable, secure and operationally supportable.
  • Translate architectural designs and strategic technology direction into reliable and supportable operational services.
  • Lead service acceptance and operational readiness activities for new and changed technology services before they move into live operation.
  • Provide technical ownership and governance for Azure, Microsoft 365, identity services, SaaS platforms and associated integrations.
  • Drive the adoption of automation, platform engineering and Infrastructure as Code practices to improve service quality and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain secure technology platforms through effective patching, configuration management, vulnerability remediation and technical assurance activities.
  • Lead resilience, disaster recovery and service continuity activities, ensuring recovery capabilities are tested and improved regularly.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, technology vendors and service providers to ensure high standards of service delivery.
  • Deputise for the Infrastructure Manager when required and contribute to engineering standards, operating models and technology roadmaps.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
