Role Purpose

We're seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to work across multiple delivery squads within our TSS Engineering Chapter. This is a highly technical, hands-on role focused on Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Security Engineering, and AWS architecture.

You'll take ownership of complex cross-functional initiatives across CI/CD, container orchestration, automation, and cloud governance, while helping to establish engineering standards and best practices. As a technical specialist rather than a people manager, you'll also mentor engineers, share expertise, and help build capability across the chapter.

Working closely with engineering communities in areas such as Terraform, Kubernetes, Identity, and Cloud Architecture, you'll play a key role in promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence across teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work where your expertise adds the most value

No two weeks will look the same in this role. You'll work across multiple squads, supporting a range of technical challenges and priorities. One week you may be architecting a Kubernetes upgrade with the Platform team, the next helping improve observability across Cloud Infrastructure, or partnering with DevSecOps on secrets management and security controls.

We're looking for someone who enjoys variety, can move confidently between technical domains, and sees broad exposure as an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

  • Build and Evolve Cloud Platform Capabilities

Design, implement, and improve AWS infrastructure, including networking, IAM, security controls, and container platforms such as Kubernetes. You'll contribute to technically complex initiatives spanning infrastructure, CI/CD, automation, identity management, and cloud governance, ensuring solutions remain secure, scalable, and compliant.

  • Share knowledge and grow capability

Help build engineering capability across the Chapter by mentoring colleagues, facilitating knowledge sharing, and promoting best practices. You'll contribute to communities of practice in areas such as Infrastructure-as-Code, Kubernetes, Identity, and Cloud Architecture, helping teams adopt modern approaches and develop their technical expertise.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Drive reliability, efficiency, and governance

Work with teams to optimise cloud spend, improve observability, and establish effective monitoring and alerting. You'll help balance innovation with operational reliability, security, and regulatory requirements.

  • Shape technical standards and architecture

Contribute to architecture decisions, engineering standards, and platform strategy. You'll help translate business needs into practical technical solutions and support engineers in understanding how infrastructure, platform, identity, and security capabilities work together.

  • Embed security by design

Security will be a key consideration in everything you do. Working closely with Cyber Engineering, you'll help establish secure-by-default patterns, implement least-privilege access controls, and build compliance and audit requirements into infrastructure solutions. You'll promote security as an enabler of delivery, helping teams move quickly while maintaining strong controls.
