Senior Platform Engineer
Note: This position can work Remote in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, or California

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you’ll shape the foundational systems that power our engineering teams. Your work will define scalable, secure, and reliable platforms, influencing how we build, deploy, and operate across the entire enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll design, implement, and govern the following critical platforms and standards:

Platform Architecture & Automation
- Architect platform "golden paths", self-service provisioning frameworks, and reusable reference implementations
- Lead platform architecture reviews, technology evaluations, vendor assessments, and toolchain investment decisions

Enterprise Governance & Compliance
- Develop policy-as-code frameworks using Azure Policy and Ansible Automation Platform
- Define role-based access control (RBAC) models, network segmentation strategies, secrets management practices, and zero-trust architectures

Infrastructure & Deployment
- Design enterprise observability architecture, including telemetry standards, monitoring configuration, and alerting strategies
- Govern SLO/SLI frameworks and error budgets to ensure performance reliability
- Lead incident response for platform failures, including postmortems and corrective actions

Quality & Reliability Engineering
- Drive chaos engineering and resilience validation practices
- Architect infrastructure supporting AI/ML workloads, including model serving, monitoring, and lifecycle governance

Cloud & Distributed Systems
- Partner with system, cloud, network, and application teams to design scalable automation workflows
- Define multi-region cloud strategies (e.g., active/active, active/passive configurations) and workload placement frameworks

DevOps & Orchestration
- Develop Ansible content strategies, reusable module libraries, and workflow orchestration (using Tower/AWX)
- Mature Kubernetes platform engineering, including multi-tenant governance and Helm architecture

Mentorship & Technical Leadership
- Mentor engineers and serve as the primary escalation point for complex platform challenges
Requirements

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience & Expertise
- 6+ years in platform engineering, cloud architecture, or infrastructure automation, preferably at enterprise scale.
- Preferred: Experience in banking, financial services, or regulated industries.

Advanced Certifications (Preferred)
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) or similar
