Senior Platform Engineer | Azure, Kubernetes & Terraform – Essential

London | Hybrid – 1 day per week in office
Up to £90,000 + 10% cash benefit + 10% non-contributory pension + discretionary bonus

We are recruiting for a Tier 1 UK bank seeking an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to join its cards and payments business.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

You must have:

  • 10+ years' experience in Cloud / Platform Engineering
  • Extensive hands-on Azure experience
  • Strong hands-on Kubernetes experience – essential, ideally AKS
  • Strong hands-on Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
  • Experience designing, building and deploying Azure platforms in production
  • Strong CI/CD experience
  • Strong Azure administration and cloud infrastructure experience
  • Experience with cloud networking and security
  • Hands-on Disaster Recovery and high-availability experience
  • Experience with real-time monitoring and observability

THE ROLE

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will design, build and continuously improve secure, scalable and highly available Azure platforms supporting a critical payments environment.

You will contribute to platform engineering tools, automation and processes, improve platform delivery from design and code through to operational support, and work closely with engineering teams to improve technology and ways of working.

TECHNICAL ENVIRONMENT

Azure | AKS / Kubernetes | Terraform | CI/CD | Cloud Networking | Cloud-Native Architecture | Monitoring & Observability

Desirable: MongoDB, Cosmos DB, SQL PaaS, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Grafana and Ansible.
