Senior Platform Engineer - Fintech - London Hybrid
Salary - £110,000 - £130,000 + Bonus and Equity
A rapidly growing fintech is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join its expanding engineering team and help build the cloud platform underpinning a highly scalable financial product.
This isn't a role where you'll simply be looking after infrastructure that's already been built.
You'll work alongside experienced engineers on the architecture, automation and reliability of a modern Azure platform, helping make technical decisions that will shape how the environment scales as the business continues to grow.
What you'll be doing
- Designing, building and improving highly available cloud infrastructure within Azure
- Working extensively with Kubernetes and containerised workloads
- Building infrastructure through code using Terraform
- Improving CI/CD, deployment automation and developer experience
- Helping design resilient, scalable platform architecture for a growing production environment
- Working across networking, security, observability and cloud infrastructure
- Supporting engineering teams with the tooling and platforms they need to deploy software safely and quickly
- Taking genuine ownership of technical problems rather than simply working through tickets
- Contributing to architectural decisions and helping shape platform engineering standards as the team grows

What we're looking for
- Strong hands-on experience building production infrastructure in Azure
- Commercial experience with Kubernetes, ideally AKS
- Strong Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform
- Good understanding of CI/CD and modern software delivery practices
- Experience working with highly available, distributed or event-driven systems
- Strong knowledge of cloud networking, security and observability
- Someone comfortable taking ownership of complex technical problems from design through to production
- A software engineering mindset towards infrastructure, automation and platform development

Experience within fintech, financial services or another environment where reliability, security and scalability really matter would be particularly useful.
