Platform Engineer
The Platform Engineer at Zilch plays a crucial role in managing and maintaining the underlying technology infrastructure for our Software, Analytics, and ML platforms. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the platform runs efficiently, securely, and at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Work in an agile environment on critical systems affecting our customers
- Support and optimise systems for performance, fault-tolerance, security, reliability, and cost-efficiency
- Continuously improve systems, practices, and knowledge
- Work with databases and data to ensure secure and effective storage and processing
- Assist in ad-hoc technology support and related duties

Requirements
Essential:
- Passionate, energetic engineer with a wholehearted commitment to system reliability and uptime
- 4+ years of experience supporting:
- SQL Databases
- Kubernetes
- AWS systems (including CloudFront, API Gateway, NLB, RDS, Aurora; or Azure/GCP)
- Experience supporting Linux
- Knowledge of caching systems such as Redis or Memcached
- Understanding of REST-integrated systems
- Working knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with Java or Python development
- Exposure to NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
- Experience with Data Platform technologies (e.g., Redshift, Airflow, SageMaker)
- Exposure to agentic workflows (e.g., Bedrock)
- Exposure to Policy as Code (e.g., Cedar, OPA)
