What you’ll be doing
You’ll work alongside experienced consultants and platform engineers delivering modern analytics platforms for organisations across life sciences, financial services, and other highly regulated industries. We actively support ongoing learning and professional development, giving you opportunities to expand your expertise across cloud technologies, analytics platforms and emerging tools.
Your primary duties and responsibilities will include:
- Design, implement, and continually improve the deployment and configuration of Linux-based analytics platforms running on containers and cloud infrastructure.
- Work hands-on with Linux, containers and cloud services to build and support client environments.
- Lead the setup and management of secure connectivity for platform components — networking, certificates and access.
- Enable and configure API integrations with other systems and applications.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, DevOps, and Cloud teams to ensure smooth deployments.
- Monitor and troubleshoot platform performance and provide proactive recommendations on improvements.
- Document configurations and operational procedures.
- Participate in patching, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
- Follow security best practices including access control and authentication.
- Learn and develop expertise in the deployment of analytics software - SAS Viya and Posit.
- Lead and contribute to internal SaaS initiatives and manage the provisioning of internal cloud environments.
- Lead internal platform engineering working group and ensure internal objectives are met.
- Monitor SAS Viya and Posit software developments and the impact these have on customer and internal deployments.

Key Competencies and Skills
- A minimum of 3 year's experience in a platform, infrastructure, DevOps, cloud or systems engineering role with proven experience with containerisation and cloud based deployments.
- Experience working with Linux operating systems and using the command line interface.
- Experience working with at least one major cloud platform — preferably Azure or AWS.
- Demonstrable understanding of networking and security basics — DNS, firewalls, certificates, and user access and authentication.
- Comfortable working across multiple client projects, balancing priorities and ensuring timelines are met and customers are kept informed.
- Strong communication and organisational skills. Able to confidently communicate with customers including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others. Also able to work as part of a team, managing priorities and deliverables in keeping with project timelines.
- Methodical problem-solving, clear communication, and the habit of documenting your work.
- Experience mentoring or supporting other engineers and junior members of the team.
- Ability to revise and maintain company standards and documentation templates.
- Quick to pick up new tools and technologies, resourceful at self-directed problem-solving, and genuinely curious about how systems work.

Desirable skills
- Experience with scripting (Python, Bash) and automation tools.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code including Terraform and DevOps pipelines.
- Any experience of analytics or data platforms such as SAS Viya, Posit/RStudio or Databricks — useful, but genuinely not required.
- Knowledge of /exposure to PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
- Working with Enterprise customers as part of large scale, multi-disciplinary projects.
