Senior Platform Engineer | Initial 12-month contract | £450pd Outside IR35 | London-based hybrid working
The opportunity
We're working with one of the UK's biggest media and entertainment groups. The programme will streamline and industrialise how content is produced across a portfolio of high-profile digital brands, starting with one of its fastest-growing.
You'll set the technical direction, shape the platform and make things happen.
What you'll be doing
- Leading the architecture and development of cloud-based media platform components, including storage, ingest and workflow services
- Deploying and managing scalable cloud infrastructure in line with enterprise standards
- Designing automation, scripting and API integrations to streamline media processing and production workflows
- Building and owning robust CI/CD pipelines for reliable, frequent releases
- Mentoring and managing one Platform Engineer, and championing good engineering and IaC practices
- Working with external technology partners to solve integration and architecture problems

What you'll bring
- Proven experience in media or broadcast. This is essential. You'll understand content production and workflow tooling and how those systems fit together
- Deep, hands-on CI/CD expertise, including designing and running pipelines (GitHub Actions)
- Strong platform, cloud or backend engineering experience, ideally at a senior level (5+ years)
- Hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP
- Confidence working with Terraform: reading, adapting and troubleshooting existing IaC
- Python, Go or Node.js for automation and API development
- Strong REST API integration skills across varied tech stacks
- Strong DevOps mindset

Nice to have
- Experience with digital asset management, cloud storage or media ingest platforms
- AWS or GCP professional-level certifications
- Cloud Foundry
- Agile delivery and TDD experience
