Role Description

The Senior Platform Engineer role is a full-time, hybrid position based in the London Area, United Kingdom, with flexibility for partial work from home. This role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable platform infrastructure that supports Navigator’s high-volume data and audience activation services.

  • Developing and optimizing backend services
  • Implementing robust data flows and integrations
  • Ensuring reliability, performance, and security across the platform

The Senior Platform Engineer will:

  • Monitor and troubleshoot production systems
  • Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, and product teams
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmaps

Additionally, the role involves:

  • Automation of deployment and operations
  • Documentation of systems and processes
  • Continuous improvement of engineering practices and tooling

Qualifications

  • Strong software development and programming skills, with experience building scalable, reliable backend systems.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure design and operations, including cloud platforms, containerization, and automation tools.
  • Proficiency with databases and data storage technologies, including design, optimization, and monitoring of data pipelines.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills for complex distributed systems, including diagnosing performance, reliability, and integration issues.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing), and security best practices in production environments.
  • Background in high-traffic, data-intensive platforms, ideally in adtech, martech, or related domains, is beneficial.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
