AgileSource Seeking Senior PMO Manager / Programme Manager / Head of PMO

Contract

Interim Contract (September – December)

AgileSource is seeking an experienced Senior PMO Manager / Programme Manager to lead governance, planning, assurance, and delivery coordination for a high-profile Digital Transformation Programme. This role will operate at the heart of the Digital leadership team, providing strategic support to senior stakeholders while ensuring effective programme control, reporting, risk management, and benefits realisation.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving a major transformation initiative that includes Digital organizational redesign, portfolio delivery oversight, and cross-functional coordination with HR, Finance, and business stakeholders. The role requires a highly credible individual who is comfortable operating at executive level, managing sensitive information, and delivering outcomes within a complex and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead PMO and programme governance activities across a strategic Digital transformation portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain programme roadmaps, milestones, delivery plans, and resource plans.
  • Monitor programme performance against agreed objectives, timelines, budgets, and benefits.
  • Drive alignment across multiple workstreams and ensure effective management of interdependencies.
  • Provide assurance and challenge to programme stakeholders to support successful execution.

Governance & Executive Reporting

  • Establish and maintain robust governance frameworks, controls, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Prepare executive-level reports, steering committee packs, and board materials.
  • Track decisions, actions, and programme outcomes, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Provide high-quality insight and recommendations to Digital leadership and programme sponsors.

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner closely with senior Digital leaders, including CIO-level stakeholders.
  • Coordinate activities across HR, Finance, and wider corporate functions.
  • Facilitate discussions, workshops, and governance forums to drive alignment and decision-making.
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Risk, Issues & Dependency Management

  • Own and maintain programme RAID logs.
  • Identify and proactively manage risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
  • Develop mitigation plans and escalate critical concerns appropriately.
  • Ensure programme controls support effective decision-making and governance.

Organisational Change & Transformation

  • Support the delivery of Digital operating model and organizational design changes.
  • Coordinate activities associated with organizational restructuring initiatives.
  • Work closely with HR and leadership teams to ensure transformation activities remain aligned and compliant.
  • Support consultation, communication, and engagement activities where required.

PMO Capability & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish and embed best-practice PMO standards, processes, and controls.
  • Coach and support PMO team members and delivery managers.
  • Drive operational efficiency through process improvement and adoption of AI-enabled ways of working.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and delivery excellence.

Essential

  • Significant experience leading PMO, portfolio, or programme management functions within large, complex organizations.
  • Proven experience supporting senior executive stakeholders, including CIO, Director, or Executive Committee level.
  • Strong portfolio governance, planning, and transformation delivery experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams within a complex change environment.
  • Experience developing executive reporting, business cases, and governance documentation.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
  • SAFe Lean Portfolio Management (LPM), SAFe Agilist, SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC), or equivalent Agile portfolio management qualification.
